Successful transformation through local management

3 years maximum! The managers at the head office of this famous insurance company set the bar very high. And because it was impossible they did so.

To lead and achieve the transformation, the CEO decided to focus on the front-line managers of the organization, which has no less than 7 hierarchical levels.

He invited all the 400 frontline managers, and only them, to a kick-off event. The message was clear: change happens throughout proximity. And that he’ll got down to work with them. The first and third days were devoted to the fundamental issues of transformation: the strategic plan, performance, feedback and collaboration, using stimulating and entertaining teaching methods. On the second day, managers choose which of the 5 topics they are most interested in: motivating and mobilizing, developing skills, giving meaning, conducting difficult interviews and managing team performance. The HR Director attends all the seminars, well beyond the opening and closing sessions. The sales managers are in a second time involved in the approach, in groups of 100, they attended in meetings, workshops and regional conference and debates.
Participants speak of a rejuvenating cure, and the success is total. Senior managers, stimulated by the impetus of proximity, are in turn asking for training to keep up. The people transformation happened and thanks to that, the agile and digital transformation is now underway.
